The British Council is looking for a new Young Entrepreneur in Publishing
IYPE is an exciting opportunity to engage with young entrepreneurs who are pushing forward publishing and to work with them on this and other British Council projects in future. The award seeks to identify and nurture this next generation of leaders in the local industry, supporting them in their promotion of the best in national creativity, and linking them with the UK at this key stage in their development.
British Council Argentina will select a candidate to participate in the International Young Publishing Entrepreneur (IYPE) Award 2008. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to do a 10-day tour of the UK publishing industry including meetings in London, Essex and Edinburgh, as well as participating in the London Book Fair. All costs will be covered by the British Council.
Candidates should be:
Aged between 25 and 35
Already working within the publishing industry in Argentina
Through their character, drive and abilities demonstrate their potential to be a future leader of the sector in their country
Able to communicate fluently in English.
The participant should not primarily be an academic, writer, author or poet.
Selection Process in Argentina
1. Interested candidates should complete the application form and send it via email to application@britishcouncil.org.ar no later than Thursday 31 January 2008 at 1600.
2. The short listing selection will be done on Friday 1 February and short listed candidates will be contacted on the same date to attend the interview.
3. Final interviews will be held at the British Council office on Monday 4 February 2008. The name of the selected candidate will be available from the British Council’s webpage as from 5 February.
Award
The winner of the International Young Publishing Entrepreneur Award 2008 will be announced at a ceremony at the London Book Fair. The prize comprises a financial reward of £7500 and a stand at the London Book Fair 2008.
